heart of  Washington, D.C. He boasts a discography that includes 2 live albums and 5 studio albums. A gifted
psalmist, composer, instrumentalist, producer, and wordsmith, Pastor Hillian enriches his ministry with his
literary contributions. His journey is a testament to his unwavering commitment to serve
God and the church.
Consecrated and ordained as the Pastor of Rising Star Holy Temple on February 26, 2017, Pastor Hillian
embraces his formidable mission with humility and reverence. He acknowledges the profound responsibility
entrusted to him by both the Almighty and His congregation, as he leads and guides them on their
spiritual journey.
Following seven years of dedicated service to the congregation, on February 26, 2024, his 7th pastoral
anniversary to the date, Pastor Hillian made the decision to rename Rising Star Holy Temple, christening it as
"thestarchurchmd," a vibrant community church located in Chapel Oaks, MD.
Radiating with the anointing, Pastor Hillian embodies the essence of a true shepherd, guiding, teaching,
admonishing, and revealing truths to the faithful. As a teaching Pastor, he is infused with divine inspiration, imparting
biblical wisdom and urging the thestarchurchmd community to discern God's will and steadfastly
adhere to His divine directives.

A native of Queens, NY, Shashonia M. Hillian embodies grace, dedication, and leadership in her role
as the Executive Administrator of Operations at thestarchurchmd, a vibrant community church in Chapel
Oaks, MD. Alongside her husband, Pastor James Hillian Jr., she serves as a pillar of strength,
demonstrating unwavering commitment and a heart full of compassion.
With a B.A. in media and ethnic studies from the City University of New York (CUNY) Hunter College,
Mrs. Hillian brings a unique perspective to her role, enriching the church community with diverse
experiences and insights. As the Executive Administrator of Operations, she oversees church business
with meticulous attention to detail and unwavering dedication, ensuring the smooth and effective
functioning of the church.
In addition to her church leadership roles, Mrs. Hillian holds several licenses, including Licensed Realtor
(VA, MD), Cosmetologist, Notary Public, and Signing Agent. Her multifaceted skills and expertise
contribute to the overall success of the church's operations and outreach efforts.
Mrs. Hillian's expertise extends beyond the church walls. In a full-time capacity, she currently serves as
the Southeastern Regional Manager of outreach for a federal government law enforcement agency,
leveraging her skills to make a positive impact in the community. Additionally, she holds the role of Chief
Financial Officer at Major Key Endeavors, LLC, a music, media, entertainment, and apparel company,
owned by her and her husband.
Beyond her professional duties, Mrs. Hillian is a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Together with
her husband, she nurtures a loving family with four children and the joy of a new grandbaby. Her
dedication to family values is evident in her unwavering support and guidance.
As a proud member of the esteemed Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated, Mrs. Hillian embodies the
principles of sisterhood, scholarship, service, and finer womanhood. She finds inspiration in genuine
